Developed in France, they possess breathtaking beauty, a marvelous disposition and a calm stately bearing. Pyrs are outstanding
livestock guardian, the breed is also a wonderful companion for town or country.
Breed takes it's name from the Pyreenes Mountain range between France & Spain. Here for centuries the dog served not
only as the sheperds chief ally in defending the flocks from wolves and bears, but also as a valued sentry.
He is serious in play as he is in work, adapting and molding himself to moods, desires and even the very life of his human
companions, through fair weather and foul, through leisure hours and hours fraught with danger, responsibility and extreme
exertion. He is the exemplification of gentleness and docility with those he knows, of faithfulness and devotion for his master
even to the point of self-sacrifice; and of courage in the protection of the flock placed in his care and of ones he loves.
